Yusuf signs 2025 budget of N719.8bn into law

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has signed into law, the sum of N719.8 billion as 2025 budget.

The Governor also promised to judiciously utilise the state’s funds in accordance with global best practices of public financial management.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the signing of the budget was held at Government House on Tuesday.

The appropriation bill was signed after being passed by the State House of Assembly on Tuesday.

This budget was tagged “Budget of Hope, Human Capital, and Economic Development”.

It prioritises education, infrastructure and human capital development, with 64 per cent allocated to capital expenditure and 36 per cent to recurrent expenditure .

The Governor assured the people of the state that the budget would be utilised judiciously for the benefit of the populace.

” I want to guarantee that allocating 64 per cent of the budget to capital projects and 36 per cent to recurrent expenditure will positively impact the lives of the citizens.

” The total budget estimate that has been ratified today amounts to N719.8 billion, with 64 per cent allocated to capital projects, totaling N 457 billion and recurrent expenditure totaling N262.6 billion .

” Today, we witnessed the ratification of the 2025 budget, which was presented to the Kano State House of Assembly a few months ago,” he said.

Yusuf expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the assembly and the members for their dedication at ensuring that the budget became a reality. (NAN)
