Emergency responders retrieved one deceased individual from the wreckage of a two-storey building that collapsed on Sunday afternoon in the Mushin area of Lagos.
Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, the Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for the Lagos Territorial Office, confirmed the details of the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Farinloye reported that the building, which was still under construction, was situated along Ishaga Road, directly opposite the Central Mosque in Idi Araba, Mushin.
“As of now, we have confirmed one fatality, while three individuals have been successfully rescued,” Farinloye stated. “Search and rescue operations are ongoing,” he added (NAN).
