President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is heading to London, United Kingdom, for a historic state visit, the first by a Nigerian leader in nearly four decades. The visit follows an official invitation from King Charles III, who will host the Nigerian president and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu at Windsor Castle.
The two-day visit, scheduled for March 18–19, 2026, is expected to feature ceremonial events, diplomatic meetings, and engagements with members of the Nigerian diaspora. British officials say preparations include security arrangements and a traditional state welcome ceremony involving senior members of the royal family.
The trip marks the first Nigerian state visit to the UK since 1989, when then-military leader Ibrahim Babangida visited Britain.
