In a significant political move ahead of the 2027 general elections, Brigadier General. Simon Katunku Gora, a frontline aspirant for the Zangon Kataf/Jaba federal constituency, convened a strategic meeting with former councillors of Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State at the local government headquarters in Kwoi.
The gathering which attracted notable political stakeholders from Jaba LGA and across the constituency, marking it an important step in strengthening grassroots engagement and unity in Jaba LGA.
Speaking at the meeting, Gen. Gora expressed his profound gratitude to the former councillors for their past and ongoing support. He assured them that his leadership style would be one of inclusivity, partnership, and transparency.
The aspirant also reminded them of his long-standing ties to the community, stating that he was not an outsider but a true son of Zangon-kataf/Jaba federal constituency. He pledged to champion the interests of his people with a genuine dedication if entrusted with the mandate in 2027.
“I have a clear vision one that requires your collective support, and my political ambition was not driven by personal gain but by a sincere desire to serve and uplift my constituents” He said.
Stressing further on issue of zoning arrangement between Zangon-Kataf and Jaba federal constituency, Gen. Gora stated that it is essential for achieving political balance and equitable development in the constituency. He noted, “The zoning formula is critical. It ensures that every segment of our constituency feels represented. We must embrace it for the sake of inclusivity and progress of our communities.”
“My leadership will not be a one-man show. I am fully committed to working hand in hand with all citizens. Together, we will chart the course for a better tomorrow,” Gen. Gora assured.
In a spirit of unity, Mr. Williams Garba, the Campaign Coordinator for Jaba LGA, urged the stakeholders to recognise the support and campaign for Gen. Gora as a shared mission, not just a personal ambition, but for the progress and sustainable growth of Jaba and Zangon-kataf federal constituency.
“This journey belongs to all of us. We must own it, support it, and succeed as one united family,” Garba stated.
Lastly, speaking on behalf of the former councillors, Hon. Alhamdu Bala (popularly known as Alakoro) commended Gen. Gora for initiating such a timely and impactful political engagement. He noted that the gathering was one of the most strategic and well-organised political events in the recent history of Jaba.
“We deeply appreciate your decision to bring us together for this important discussion. Your vision and sincerity have touched us, and we stand ready to support you to the end,” Hon. Bala stated.
He further urged Gen. Gora to remain true to his constituents if given the mandate, especially by remembering and empowering the voters who believe in his vision.
“If God grants you this opportunity, never forget the people who stood by you. Let your leadership reflect the will and needs of the masses,” Bala concluded.
With strong endorsements from respected figures and a clear roadmap ahead, Hon. Gora’s aspirations are no longer just personal ambitions they’re becoming a collective movement for real change.
