Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace as Al‑Nassr defeated Damac 4‑1 in Riyadh on Thursday to win the Saudi Pro League title for the first time in seven years on the final day of the season.
Having drawn 1‑1 with title rivals Al‑Hilal last week, Jorge Jesus’s side knew that only a victory would guarantee the championship. The hosts delivered in emphatic fashion.
Sadio Mané opened the scoring with a header in the 34th minute, and Kingsley Coman doubled the lead seven minutes after the restart.
Morlaye Sylla reduced the deficit for Damac from the penalty spot in the 58th minute, offering the visitors—who needed just one point to avoid relegation—a glimmer of hope.
That hope was extinguished five minutes later, however, when Ronaldo fired home a curling free kick to restore Al‑Nassr’s two‑goal advantage. He then added a fourth from close range in the 81st minute to seal the victory.
First Major Club Silverware Since 2021
The brace marked the 41‑year‑old Portuguese forward’s first major club trophy since winning the Coppa Italia with Juventus in 2021, and his first piece of silverware for Al‑Nassr since joining the club in 2023.
