Data Addicts CEO John David, known as the “Data Guru,” has urged Nigerian politicians across all parties to prioritise national interest over personal ambition ahead of the 2027 elections.
Reflecting on the recent Osun State election, David said it offered key lessons for the upcoming polls, praising citizens for defending their votes despite alleged attempts to impose candidates and destabilise the state.
“Nigeria and Nigerians must come first,” he stressed, warning against political competition that threatens democratic stability.
He commended international observers for their role in Osun and called on the US and Europe to stay engaged with Nigeria’s democratic process, noting that “the stability of Nigeria is the stability of Africa.”
David also urged INEC to fully deploy technology to boost transparency and reduce post-election disputes, and appealed to parties and supporters to embrace peaceful competition.
“Politicians will come and go, but Nigeria will remain,” he said, calling on citizens to remain vigilant and protect their democratic rights.
