An international caterer who participated in the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage, Hajia Kadijat Jakande, has praised the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for its commitment to the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims. Led by Alhaji Jalal Arabi, NAHCON’s efforts were evident throughout the Hajj, she said.
Jakande, in a statement sent to ELANZA on Thursday, also commended NAHCON’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Olanrewaju Elegushi, urged critics of the commission to focus on constructive feedback based on facts and reason rather than unfounded accusations.
“NAHCON performed well,” Kadijat stated, emphasizing the commission’s commendable efforts in Madina and Mina. She added that state pilgrim boards effectively managed accommodation and feeding.
The caterer highlighted NAHCON’s humanitarian initiatives in Saudi Arabia, including settling medical bills for injured pilgrims and securing the release of those wrongfully imprisoned.
She praised the leadership of Arabi and Elegushi, describing them as delivering on all expectations. Despite criticisms from some state officials, Kadijat argued that these were unfounded and often attempts to divert attention from local mismanagement.
Arabi, a former federal permanent secretary with an impeccable record, was lauded for his integrity and dedication.
