Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Movement For Better Taraba has thrown its weight behind the governorship bid of former lawmaker Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi (Danji SS) under the banner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

In a press statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Comrade Maniru Sale, the group urged Taraba residents to back the candidate, citing his proven track record on governance and accountability.

Describing Danji SS as a politician of conscience, the group highlighted his persistent public letters to Governor Agbu Kefas, in which he raised concerns over the state’s rising debt and questioned the value of projects relative to borrowed funds. According to the movement, these interventions have struck a chord with many Tarabans worried about the direction of development.

The statement also noted ongoing grassroots realignments across the state’s three senatorial zones, with increasing defections to APGA centred on Danji SS as a focal figure. The group called on citizens to embrace credible alternatives as political activity intensifies.

Political observers view the endorsement as a reflection of shifting alliances ahead of 2027, with various groups mobilising support for preferred candidates across party lines in Taraba.
