A frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Abia State, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has secured the party’s nomination form ahead of the 2027 election.
Kalu disclosed this in a statement shared via his social media handle on Tuesday.
He said the move signalled his firm commitment to contest the governorship election under the platform of the APC.
“Today, in a clear demonstration of my commitment to contest the 2027 governorship election in Abia State under the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, I took the valiant step of purchasing the party’s nomination form,” he said.
Kalu added that he had become the first aspirant to obtain the form and declared his intention to participate in the party’s forthcoming primaries.
He urged his supporters to remain resolute, insisting that he would not abandon the race midway.
“To my teeming supporters and followers, do not be shaken; remain steadfast, for I did not start this journey only to back down for anybody halfway,” he stated.
The aspirant also expressed appreciation to party leaders and stakeholders for their support.
He specifically commended the State Working Committee in Abia, the National Working Committee, and other party leaders for what he described as steering the APC in the right direction.
Kalu reiterated his vision for what he termed a greater Abia, pledging to stay the course in the build-up to the party’s primaries.
