Deputy Governor Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, representing Governor Uba Sani at Katung’s campaign inauguration in Kafanchan on Saturday, conveyed the Governor’s apology for his absence due to official engagements outside the state.

“The Governor holds the people of Southern Kaduna in very high esteem,” she said. “This administration remains fully committed to equity, fairness, and inclusive development.”

She emphasised that the government prioritises accountability and measurable impact, adding: “We are not interested in rhetoric. Every part of this state must feel the presence of government.”

Balarabe commended Katung for what she described as effective representation and consistent advocacy, noting: “His voice at the national level is yielding visible results.”

She urged residents to maintain unity and a peaceful political atmosphere, stating: “As we move closer to elections, I urge all stakeholders to shun bitterness and focus on ideas that build, not destroy.”

“Every step I have taken in the Senate has been guided by the desire to bring development closer to our people,” Katung said. “Healthcare is not a privilege; it is a right.”

He called for continued political support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, adding: “Our progress depends on collaboration across all levels of government.”

Lawmakers rally support

The member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Dan Amos, declared strong support for Katung’s second-term ambition, saying: “His projects are visible, his engagements are consistent. This is politics of results.”

The National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Comrade Audu Amba, also praised Katung’s focus on education and human capital development, urging continuity and collective progress.

The event concluded with renewed calls for unity, peaceful political engagement, and sustained socio-economic investment in Southern Kaduna.
