The All Progressives Congress has cleared aspirant, Mascot Uzor Kalu, to contest the 2027 governorship election in Abia State.
Kalu disclosed this in a statement shared on Saturday via his Facebook page.
He said the clearance followed his successful screening by the APC Governorship Screening Committee ahead of the party’s primary election.
Kalu expressed appreciation to the party’s National Working Committee and the screening panel for what he described as a credible and seamless exercise.
“I am glad to announce to my teeming political supporters and followers that I have been successfully screened by the APC Governorship Screening Committee as part of my aspiration,” he stated.
The aspirant also commended the committee led by Benjamin Obi Nwoye for conducting a transparent process.
He added that he remained focused on the next phase of the race as the party primaries approach.
“With this milestone achieved, I remain committed and focused as we move toward the party primaries scheduled for May 21,” Kalu added.
