A group under the auspices of Liberal Progressive and Patriotic Members Congress (LPPMC) says it will operate as an independent entity, partnering only with groups, parties, or individuals whose values and ideals align with theirs.
The National Secretary of LPPMC, Eld. Yusuf Solomon Danbaki, explained, “The decision to have a broadbase political affiliation was taken in order to ensure that the principles and ideals that the LPPMC represents are adhered to, and the need to preserve the the reputation and integrity that LPPMC has built over the years are respected as sacrosanct.”
He further explained that the movement is to ensure a commitment to individual freedoms, civil rights, and social justice and dedicated to social reform, innovation, and addressing contemporary societal challenges.
Danbaki said, “A love for Nigeria and a responsibility to uphold its democratic ideals, a recognition of the strength found in diversity, unity, and collective action and a commitment to democratic principles, transparency, and accountability.”
The National Secretary said that their members remain open to collaborating with the Labour Party, but only if it returns to the principles that once made it a beacon of hope for Nigerians.
Its National Coordinator, Dr. Kingsley Okundayo, he noted stated that recently that the LPPMC is committed to fostering a society that is equitable, innovative, and united in its pursuit of the common good, adding that their principles are non-negotiable, and we will not bend them to accommodate anyone.
Danbaki urged all members, supporters, and the general public to continue standing with them as embark on the new chapter, assuring that they will work towards a Nigeria that reflects their shared vision of freedom, progress, and patriotism.
