Senator Bagudu highlighted the long-standing Development Cooperation Partnership between Nigeria and Germany, dating back to the signing of the Technical Cooperation Agreement in 1974. The collaboration, overseen by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation, aims to address critical areas such as Sustainable Economic Development, Training and Employment, Agri-Food Systems Transformation, Climate and Energy, Health, Social Protection, Population Policy, as well as Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention.

Both nations pledged to conduct annual consultations to assess and enhance bilateral cooperation initiatives.

Ms. Svenja Schulze reiterated Germany’s commitment to Nigeria’s economic progress, affirming the allocation of annual funds through the Development Cooperation Partnership.

She assured Minister Bagudu of Germany’s unwavering support for Nigeria’s development agenda.

Mr. Nebeolisa Anako, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, expressed gratitude to the German government for its continuous support and encouraged investment in Nigeria.

Dr. Samson Ebimaro, the Director of International Cooperation, underscored the pivotal role of the private sector in Nigeria’s economic revitalization.

He highlighted the partnership’s focus on catalysing growth across various sectors for sustainable development.
