Chief Kente announced the initiative during Adaji’s burial ceremony on Thursday in Imani, Olomaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State. The endowment will benefit outstanding students at Federal University Wukari and Taraba State University, Jalingo, with disbursements made annually.

The philanthropist described the funds as part of his commitment to immortalising the late media practitioner while strengthening journalism education in the region. He further pledged ongoing support for Adaji’s family to ease the burden of their loss.

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, represented by Mr Gabriel Yough, offered condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Imani. Yough, who chairs the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Taraba State, urged the community to draw strength from their faith, affirming that life and death remain divinely ordained.

Describing Adaji’s passing as a profound loss to the profession, Yough noted that Taraba had lost a cornerstone of its media landscape.

Chief Ben Adaji, who passed away after a distinguished career spanning more than three decades, was widely revered for his contributions to journalism and public service.
