Addressing the matter, the statement clarified the reason behind the absence of a new Chaplain for the Aso Villa Chapel following the departure of the previous one.

It was emphasized that the closure of the chapel was never directed by the First Lady, nor did she request the keys to be handed over to her.

While the Aso Villa Chapel continues to host weekly fellowship sessions, including midweek fellowship gatherings on Tuesdays, the appointment of a new Chaplain remains pending.

The responsibility to appoint a Chaplain for the chapel solely rests with the President.

To address the misleading reports on social media, the Office of the First Lady released an official statement debunking the claim of the Aso Villa Chapel’s closure.

The statement emphasizes the fabrication and false representation of the situation.

As per the statement, the responsibility to appoint a Chaplain for the Aso Villa Chapel lies solely with the President.

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has not given any directive for the chapel’s closure or requested the keys to be handed over to her.
