These was made know during an interview shortly after the and of it’s two- days training Media Personnel on gender -base violence (GBV)and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), held in Kaduna on Saturday 6th December,2025.
Ms Muriel said the collaboration, is in line with 2025 16 Days of Activism campaign, seeks to leverage the influence of Media, community leaders to use their power and tackle technology – facilitated abuse, a threat magnified by global connectivity, yet hindered by critical funding shortages for survivor services.
“violence is not inevitable. “The first message is that violence is preventable “It is the individual decisions we make, it is the action we take as individuals which are important in creating a safe and protective environment for everyone, it is within our capacity to address.” She stressed that while the 16 Days campaign provides focus, “everyday should be a day of activism because violence against girls, women or anyone is unacceptable”.
“The partnership addresses a severe and dual-layered crisis in Nigeria: Alarming Rates of Violence: Official data reveals over 10,300 GBV cases were reported in just the first nine months of 2025, with thousands receiving care. Nationally, approximately one in three women experiences violence.

Ealier during the field tour to Yusuf Dan Shofo General Hospital Tudun Wada, trained Media went on accessment visited the survivors of (GBV) some narrated there experience.
Survivor 1, 18 years survivor who get married when she was 14 years “this illness started shortly after my first pregnancy, in the village, we don’t have clinic rather a midwife who normally collect delivery when due, when I was due I went to her she could not help out, I went to another midwife same story, then my parents brought me here, when reaction here I have to undergone surgery when eventually I lost the baby, and I developed this problem but thank Allah am getting better.
At the general hospital over 50 survivors have been operated upon, and are recovering fast healings.
