The remains of Elder Jatau Danladi Bako, a retired Director of Education in the Kaduna State Ministry of Education, have been laid to rest at his country home in Samban Gida, Jaba Local Government Area, amidst glowing tributes from family, friends, and well-wishers.

Bako, who passed away on March 7 at the age of 75 after a prolonged illness, is survived by his wife and four children, including Capt. Caleb Danladi Bako, a philanthropist and founder of the Caleb Danladi Foundation.

Speaking at the funeral, his wife, Talatu Danladi, described her late husband as a selfless man dedicated to the growth and development of those around him. She noted that his patience, kindness, and generosity continually inspired her to be a better person.

His eldest son, Capt. Caleb Danladi Bako, shared that his father instilled in him the values of humility and fairness, treating everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of their faith or background.

“One of the most profound lessons my father taught me was the value of humility and equality. He believed every human being deserved kindness and compassion,” he said.

Caleb pledged to uphold his father’s legacy of service to humanity and devotion to God.

“He believed that life’s purpose was found in service, and he exemplified this in every way possible. I will continue to honor his memory by living a life of service, just as he did.”

The Chairman of ECWA Kwoi DCC, Rev. Mathias Haruna, highlighted the deceased’s deep commitment to the church, noting the numerous leadership roles he held. He described Bako’s contributions to the growth and development of the DCC as invaluable.

Mrs. Deborah Usman, a family friend, recalled his generosity and kindness.

“For every visit to his home, there was always a takeaway gift. The last one I received was a live chicken during my visit,” she shared.

The District Head of Daddu, Bello Shamaki, described Bako as “a beacon of hope for the less privileged and a true pillar of our community.”

As family, friends, and the community bid farewell to Elder Jatau Danladi Bako, his legacy of kindness, service, and dedication to education remains a lasting testament to the life he lived.
