The minister in charge of ECWA Church, Buda Two, Kasuwa Magani in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Rev. Musa Mairimi, was on Thursday shot dead by bandits.
Rev. John Joseph Hayab, the Kaduna State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) who confirmed the incident on Saturday, explained that the attackers stormed the community on Thursday and killed the clergy in his residence.
He lamented that the bandits also abducted the deceased wife.
According to him, over 100 people who were abducted are still in the terrorists’ camp for over six months from local government areas of Kauru, Jaba, Kachia, Kagarko and Kajuru have regained their freedom.
According to him, “The insecurity especially killing and kidnapping of innocent souls is so disturbing that it is no longer news because many are left to carry their crosses while many have been killed in the hands of the terrorists, many homes have been completely destroyed with valuables and nothing is being done to alleviate the sufferings of the common people affected.”
He lamented that CAN is so disturbed with the rate kidnapping of innocent souls are ongoing at this hard time that people hardly put food on their table.
The disturbing situation, according to him is that the government was not doing enough to ensure the killings in the state is curtail to enable rural dwellers go about their normal lives to provide to their families.
He believed that insecurity was a major problem that hinders many eligible voters to come out to exercise their franchise of electing candidates of their choice.
He called on the security agencies to be more proactive in ensuring that the society is free from the activities of bandits that have brought untold hardship to the people.
