In a landmark move aimed at fostering lasting peace and unity, the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA), under the leadership of Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, in collaboration with several Chief Imams, has convened a groundbreaking unity meeting involving all traditional rulers from the region.
The historic gathering, held on Wednesday in Kafanchan, is a proactive initiative to consolidate the gains of peace recorded in recent years under the present government and to chart a new course for the future of the region as a united people.
Speaking on the core purpose of the meeting, Apostle Kure emphasised that the clerics of Southern Kaduna are deeply concerned about the changing times and the potential risks facing the region if its leaders and people fail to rise above past divisions.
Responding on behalf of other traditional leaders present at the meeting, the Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu II and the Chief of Kagoro, Dr. Ufuwai Bonnet, warmly welcomed the initiative.
They pledged their full support to ensure its success, describing the gathering as timely and necessary for the survival and progress of Southern Kaduna.
The paramount rulers also commended the religious leaders for taking bold steps to bring traditional rulers together, regardless of ethnic or religious differences, to pursue a shared vision of peace, unity, and development.
The meeting, which also had some elders of the land in attendance, is widely seen as a pivotal step toward fostering inter-ethnic and inter-religious dialogue among the traditional institutions in the region, with the ultimate goal of securing a peaceful and prosperous future for all inhabitants of Southern Kaduna.
