“Shettima Commends Tinubu For Efforts In Supporting Vulnerable Groups and National Development”

A former ministerial nominee and stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Maryam Shettima, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitments to enhancing the well-being of vulnerable populations in the North West region and driving economic growth nationwide.
Shettima made the commendation during the launch of the palliative distribution initiative in Kano State on Sunday, chaired by Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibril, urging the people of Kano State and the broader North West region to sustain their support for the President’s transformative agenda, both regionally and nationally.
The palliative distribution effort, spearheaded by the President’s Committee on Palliatives for Kano, aims to alleviate the socio-economic challenges faced by vulnerable communities in the region and other parts of the country.
According to Shettima, who is a member of the Presidential Committee on Palliatives for Kano State, “President Tinubu has demonstrated a profound understanding of the challenges faced by the people of Kano State, and has consistently shown that their well-being is a top priority. His empathetic approach and dedication to supporting vulnerable populations, particularly during times of need, are truly praiseworthy.”
She noted: “The distribution of food items has brought relief to many families in need, and we are grateful for Mr. President’s efforts. This administration has been distributing food items to vulnerable citizens, providing much-needed support to those affected by economic challenges.
“In addition to his efforts, the President has made agriculture a flagship priority for ensuring national food security, and his policies in this area are people-centered and poised to yield tangible benefits in the near future. Despite the current economic challenges facing the nation, the President has implemented bold initiatives that will stimulate economic recovery and growth in the short term.
“I encourage the people of Kano State, the North West and indeed, Nigerians to stand in solidarity with the President, offering both prayers and words of encouragement to inspire him to continue delivering transformative leadership for the nation’s prosperity.”

The statement read, “Abolishment of segmentation. All segments are now collapsed into the Investors and Exporters (I&E) window. Applications for medicals, school fees, BTA/PTA, and SMEs would continue to be processed through deposit money banks.

The changes to operations in the country’s FX market imply that Nigeria has eased its control of the naira, allowing the local currency to float freely.
Meanwhile, a free-floating exchange rate occurs when a government allows the exchange rate to be determined purely by market forces and there is no attempt to ask the central bank to influence the external value of the exchange rate.

APC Group Condemns U.S. Meddling In Tinubu’s Presidency

The Confederation of All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Group (CASG) and Concerned Nigerian Citizens for Justice and Sovereignty have condemned what they describe as a coordinated campaign by US federal agencies targeting President Bola Tinubu, warning that such actions threaten Nigeria’s sovereignty and democratic integrity.
Engr Muhammed Kailani, Director General of the groups in a statement
issued on Wednesday, accusing the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of orchestrating a “politically engineered witch-hunt” against Tinubu.
He described the actions as an affront to Nigeria’s democracy.
“President Tinubu was elected to lead, not to be distracted by foreign conspiracies or trial by media,” Kailani said.
“The world must respect our sovereignty and our right to choose our leaders without external intimidation.”
The groups pointed to the recent release of decades-old documents by US agencies as evidence of a deliberate attempt to tarnish Tinubu’s reputation and undermine the will of Nigerians, who elected him in the 2023 presidential election.
The vote, widely regarded as free and fair, saw Tinubu emerge as the country’s leader despite longstanding allegations that have never been substantiated in court.
“This sudden rush to dredge up old documents is nothing short of a politically motivated attack,” Kailani added.
“Nigeria is a sovereign nation, not a satellite state to be dictated to by foreign intelligence bodies acting on behalf of interest groups.”
He called on the FBI and associated agencies to “immediately halt this charade,” warning that continued actions could be interpreted as foreign interference in Nigeria’s domestic politics.
The groups also raised concerns about the timing of the allegations, suggesting they were fuelled by “politically biased actors” seeking to destabilise the country.
