In a solemn turn of events, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan Land, HRM Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun, has departed this world at the age of 82. His legacy echoes through the corridors of Ibadan’s rich history.

The journey of Oba Balogun began in 1942, amidst the rich cultural tapestry of Ibadan. From humble beginnings, he rose to prominence, carving a path of leadership and distinction.

Beyond his royal duties, Oba Balogun ventured into the political arena, serving as a beacon of representation for Oyo Central senatorial district from 1999 to 2003. His tenure marked a period of advocacy and service to his constituents.

March 11, 2022, witnessed the coronation of Oba Balogun as the 42nd Olubadan, following the passing of his predecessor, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Oguguniso III. Embracing the mantle of leadership, he endeavoured to uphold the esteemed traditions of the Ibadan monarchy.
