The Court of Appeal in Abuja has unanimously affirmed Monday Okpebholo as the duly elected Governor of Edo State. The court dismissed Asue Ighodalo’s (PDP) petition challenging the September 2024 election results, rejecting evidence from 133 BVAS machines and testimonies from 49 polling unit agents due to procedural irregularities. The court found no merit in claims of overvoting, solidifying Okpebholo’s (APC) victory and strengthening the APC’s position in Edo State.
