Aigbe said the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) recognised the governor for his performance in governance as he has been very accountable, transparent, and resourceful in the management of human and State resources.

“ICAN has given you this award for your performance in governance, especially in the area of accountability, transparency and resourcefulness in the management of human and State resources. Your resourcefulness has singled you out amongst the crowd which necessitated this award,” he said.

The awards are Rotary Award of Excellence in recognition of the outstanding performance of Governor Godwin Obaseki in surveillance within the PEI in Nigeria, and the ICAN award to the State Government for ranking 3rd amongst the 36 States and the Federal Government in 2020 Accountability Index (ICAN-AI).
