Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board has debunked insinuation by members of the public that politicians hijacked the list of applicants of the ongoing recruitment exercise of basic education teachers in the state.
The Chairman, central coordinating Team for the recruitment exercise and permanent member three of the board, Joseph Kaura, noted this when he led members of the team to venues of the just concluded interviews in Nasarawa
While reacting to the comments made by some individuals on various social media platforms that politicians hijacked the list of some applicants tagged “special candidates” in the ongoing recruitment exercise of 4,700 basic education teachers in the state, the chairman central coordinating committee and permanent member three, Joseph Kaura, refuted the allegation, describing it as baseless, calling on the public to disregard it.
“Am not aware of anything like that, I am also a politician, where is the list, the applicants are here, if u are qualified, u will be employed. People should disregard such rumour.
Joseph Kaura, said he has gone round venues of the interview to monitor the exercise and the committee has done well in terms of coordination with the support of the applicants, calling on the public to be patient as the best would be employed who can impact knowledge on the younger generation.
“The committee is doing a good Job, the applicants conducted themselves well. Everything is normal”
Corroborating the statement of Joseph Kaura, the Chairman, Kokona Local government area, Auwalu Adamu, said all the thirteen local government chairmen in the state have agreed to allow the committee under Joseph Kaura to take charge of their responsibilities by recruiting qualified teachers.
“Ours is to support them to do their work as assigned to them. Anybody that said we the politicians hijacked the list is a lie”.
Some applicants interviewed, Hope Jeremiah Kagbu, and Ibrahim Isa, described the screening process as orderly saying it is done based on the applicant’s qualification.
“We are happy with the arrangement of the interview, when you have the requirements, you will find it very easy”
” the screening is moving normal because they call the names one after the other to avoid misunderstanding”.
