The Nigeria Archery Federation has appointed a multi-medalist, professional barebow Archer, and sport administrator Ogunlana Seun Ibrahim as its first National Club Coordinator, since establishment in 1997.
The appointment was announced by NAFED in a swift move to scale up operations and professional activities for the 2026 calendar year. The appointment of Ogunlana was confirmed in a statement signed by the Sec. General Philip O. Ayo, on the 6th of January 2026.
The appointment of Ogunlana as the first national club coordinator of NAFED is in view of his outstanding commitment, years of professional excellence, and significantly his victories in several local and national archery competitions.
He is the co-founder of Arch Archery Club, founder of Kingsmen Archery Club, Ibadan, and a key initiator of the Oyo State Archery Association.
Ogunlana Seun emerged winner of the 2024 Shooters Open Championship in the 30m Barebow Male category , where he was decorated with a gold medal. He is a two-time silver medalist at Nigerian Archery Federation Championships.
Archery in Nigeria has remained a fundamental game gaining both international and local partnerships in recent times.
As a certified Judge, with over five years of experience in competitive archery, officiating, and event organization, the new National Club Coordinator of NAF is a holder of the World Archery certifications in competition management and judging. He obtained the certifications in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
In a statement few hours ago, Ogunlana explained that his mission for NAFED spans across creating accessible database, standardise operations, improve the expansion of archery clubs, provide technical support, adopt Club activities into NAFED national activities, and amongst other innovative strategies.
Ogunlana Seun Ibrahim was appointed alongside Aliyu A. Garga as the National Head Coach, Sholademi Damilola as Director, Technical, Ms Hauwa W. Pindar as Deputy Director, Technical, Aliyu Abubakar as National Captain, Ms Gambo Buba as National Event Coordinator, Umaru Abdulhamid (Navy) as Director, Training, and Mohammed Ado (Airforce) as Director, Institution Sports.
The new appointees, according to the statement, make up the technical crew of the Nigeria Archery Federation.
