The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has destroyed a key terrorist base in the Mandara Mountains, north-eastern Nigeria, as part of an ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under Operation HADIN KAI.

In a coordinated air strike conducted on 27 April 2026, NAF jets targeted insurgent positions in Guduf, a settlement within the mountain range that straddles the Nigeria-Cameroon border, primarily in Adamawa and Borno States.

According to a statement signed by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, the operation was guided by credible intelligence and confirmatory surveillance reports.

“NAF air assets executed a coordinated operation that identified multiple terrorist structures and logistics hubs actively supporting insurgent activities within the area,” Ejodame said, adding that the mission adhered strictly to established rules of engagement.

He further noted that the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI deployed precision targeting to neutralise hostile elements and infrastructure, while ensuring the protection of civilians and the surrounding environment.

The strike successfully destroyed key terrorist logistics hubs and structures in the enclave, a known hideout in the Mandara Mountains, significantly degrading the operational capacity of the insurgent network.

The NAF reaffirmed that the operation underscores its commitment to denying terrorist groups freedom of action and bolstering national security.
