Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage shared an inspiring story about her close bond with fellow artist Olamide.

According to Tiwa, Olamide, who is the founder of the YBNL record label, refused to accept a hefty sum of N100 million for a verse on one of her songs.

On her Instagram page on Wednesday, Tiwa detailed the event, explaining that Olamide’s management had initially billed her the substantial amount.

However, when Olamide learned about the charge, he declined the payment. This gesture, Tiwa noted, was driven by Olamide’s awareness of the challenges faced by female artists in the music industry.

“I was talking to his management because I didn’t want to approach him directly. His team quoted N100 million. When Olamide found out who the artist was, he immediately refused to take the money,” Tiwa recounted.

Tiwa expressed her gratitude towards Olamide, describing their relationship as akin to that of siblings. She highlighted how Olamide’s actions reflect his caring nature and his understanding of the industry’s dynamics, especially for women.

“He said I’m his sister and he knows how difficult it is for a woman to make it in the industry. And guess what? He gave the verse for free. Good people exist and Baddo is one,” Tiwa added, using Olamide’s popular nickname.
