The President Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Oghogho Musa, says that wives of military personnel are shouldered with many responsibilities because of the constant absence of their husbands.
Musa said this at a two-day visioning and Planning Workshop organised by DEPOWA for wives of military personnel on Tuesday in Abuja.
She said that wives of military personnel were often saddled with the responsibilities of caregivers and keepers of home front while making effort to meet their dreams and aspiration in life at the same time.
According to her, the visioning and planning workshop was organised for the women to gain clarity on what they needed to do and also to build their capacity.
“This is because every woman is a leader in our own rights and we all have inherent qualities and potential that are in us which need to be to be enhanced.
“This programme is to bring out this potential in us to be able to plan, get clarity of our vision to ensure that core areas of our lives are balanced.
“We need programs like this to make us align with what we want to become in in life and to have a fulfilled and purposeful life,” she said.
On her part, one of the Resource Persons and Founder Vision Academy, Mrs Celina Unogwu, said the key focus of the workshop was to help participants to get clarity of direction and the strategy with the right mindset.
She said there was the need to have the right state of mind to stay focused on where they want to be, no matter the challenges.
“So, with the clarity of all the aspects of life, they are able to plan accordingly,” she added. (NAN)
