Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State have adopted a consensus arrangement for future party primaries, endorsing President Bola Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and Senator Sunday Marshall Katung ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The resolution was reached on Tuesday at the Local Government Secretariat in Kwoi during a stakeholders’ meeting convened by the council’s Executive Chairman, Hon. Larai Sylvia Ishaku.
Addressing party faithful, Ishaku said the consensus model aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s peace and unity initiative, designed to strengthen the APC and sustain internal cohesion. She praised the Governor for delivering democratic dividends and fostering peaceful coexistence among religious groups, traditional institutions, and political actors in Jaba.
Ishaku also commended the smooth conduct of recent APC congresses, noting that the emergence of party leaders through consensus reflected unity within the ruling party. Adopting a similar approach for future activities, she added, would further consolidate the APC’s strength in Jaba and Kaduna State at large.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation, Hon. Benjamin Kure, said the embrace of consensus demonstrated the party’s commitment to discipline, unity, and collective progress. He noted that stakeholders had resolved to place the party’s overall interest above personal ambitions to sustain internal stability, adding that members remained united behind Governor Uba Sani’s leadership.
The stakeholders unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, Rt. Hon. Magaji Amos Gwamna, and Hon. Zakariah Henry Marah for re-election in 2027.
In his remarks, former Jaba Local Government Chairman and former Kaduna State Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Thot Dogo, urged APC members to avoid divisive rhetoric capable of fracturing party unity. He called for intensified grassroots mobilisation in support of the APC’s agenda across Jaba, Kaduna State, and the country.
Speaking on behalf of stakeholders, Mr Joseph Dogo also urged party leaders to remain proactive in engaging both registered and prospective members, showcasing Governor Uba Sani’s achievements and effectively communicating the administration’s policies ahead of the 2027 elections.
More than 100 APC stakeholders from across Jaba Local Government Area attended the meeting.
