The All Progressives Congress (APC) has demonstrated renewed unity in Zango/Jaba Federal Constituency, with the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Amos Gwamna, emerging as the party’s consensus candidate for the forthcoming election.
The announcement followed the voluntary withdrawal of other aspirants, who stepped aside to preserve peace and party cohesion. The endorsement came shortly after the APC primaries held on Saturday in Kwoi, headquarters of Jaba Local Government Area.
Speaking after the exercise, Gwamna praised the seamless process and thanked Governor Uba Sani for what he described as steady leadership. “I want to sincerely thank the Executive Governor of Kaduna State for his leadership and unwavering support,” he said. He also acknowledged party stakeholders in both local government areas for ensuring a peaceful outcome.
“I am standing here today as the consensus candidate not because I am better than any of them, but because they placed the unity of the APC and the peace of our constituency above personal ambition,” Gwamna said. He called on all supporters to rally behind his candidacy to strengthen the party and drive development.
In a related move, the Executive Chairman of Jaba Local Government, Hon. Larai Sylvia Ishaku, declared the area’s unwavering loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani—whom she noted residents fondly call the “rural transformer” for his grassroots development focus.
“I can confidently assure you that Jaba Local Government remains fully committed to the ruling APC,” she said, citing tangible progress in infrastructure, empowerment schemes, palliative distribution, and people-centred interventions.
She maintained that the local party structure is strong and united, adding: “The people can clearly see the difference, and they appreciate a leadership style that prioritises inclusiveness, development, and service delivery.”
The developments signal growing political consolidation for the APC in Zango/Jaba Federal Constituency ahead of the next electoral cycle.
