Gunmen invade Celestial church in Ogun, kill prophet

Tragedy Struck in a church at Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State when Gunmen invaded a Celestial Church of Christ and shot to death, a fifty four year-old Prophet, Yomi Adetula.

The assailants according to reports, stormed the church located along Baggage Road, Odo Eran, Idiroko, around 10:30 in the morning and opened fire during the service with three gunmen reportedly targeting the deceased Adetula, shooting him multiple times and subsequently attacked his head with an axe.

Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident explaining that Police officers raced to the scene and found Yomi Adetula dead. Police investigation revealed that the three assailants entered the church, brandished a long double-barrel gun, aimed at their target, and fired shot that brought the deceased down.

Omolola said the corpse has been deposited at the General Hospital Morgue in Ilaro while the police had started investigation to apprehend the suspects, who fled into the border area.
