The Zamfara All Progressives Vanguard has expressed appreciation to Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, for briefly appointing Alhaji Yazid Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative, despite the announcement being rescinded hours later.
In a statement signed by the group’s spokesperson, Mikailu Aliyu Gusau, the Vanguard praised the president for recognizing loyalty within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“This decision, brief as it was, underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding loyalty and dedication within the APC,” Gusau said.
“It reflects his acknowledgment of those who worked tirelessly for the party’s success during the 2023 elections.”
The group described Alhaji Yazid Danfulani as a committed APC member whose contributions were pivotal to the party’s electoral success.
“Alhaji Yazid Danfulani has demonstrated unwavering loyalty and commitment to the party’s vision and objectives,” Gusau added.
“His efforts during the presidential campaign significantly contributed to the party’s victory, and we believe he deserves recognition for his service.”
While acknowledging the unexpected cancellation of Danfulani’s appointment, the Vanguard expressed optimism in Tinubu’s leadership.
“We are not discouraged. We trust in the wisdom of President Tinubu’s government and believe that greater opportunities await Alhaji Yazid,” Gusau said.
“His integrity, humility, and dedication have left a lasting impact on the people of Zamfara and the APC family.”
The group also called on President Tinubu to consider Danfulani for another significant role, emphasizing his suitability for further responsibilities.
“His track record of service and loyalty makes him an excellent candidate for a position that aligns with the administration’s developmental goals,” Gusau said.
“We thank President Tinubu and Dr. Matawalle for their recognition of Alhaji Yazid’s contributions,” Gusau said.
“We stand firmly behind this administration’s vision of progress and inclusivity.”
