Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara alongside his Lagos and Ogun State counterparts, Mr. Babajide Sanwolu, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Friday night attended the Christian Wake-keep and commendation service for late Herbert Wigwe, his wife Chizoba and son, Chizi in Isiokpo, headquarters of Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State.
Also at the event were the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and his Trade counterpart, Chief Wale Edun as well as Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, former governors of Ekiti and Delta, Mr. Kayode Fayemi and Chief James Ibori, Chief Celestine Omehia and Rt Hon. Austin Opara as well as business magnet Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
The commendation service, which was conducted by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, saw the gathering of political stalwarts, captains of industry and sympathisers from far and near.
In a sermon by the Pastor incharge of Region 33, South-South, Pastor David Adeoye, noted that life is just but a loan that must be paid, charging those who are still living to always endeavour to make maximum positive impact while alive as there may never be an opportunity to do so when death knocks.
Adeoye therefore admonished everyone to do good to humanity with whatever position one occupies before it becomes late, stressing that the commendation service for Dr. Herbert Wigwe is to reflect on the lifetime legacies the late financial magnet has left not just in the industry but to all shades of humanity.
Fubara’s entourage includes the deputy governor, Prof Ngozi Odu, Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka and a host of others.
