Frank to Bode George: You’re Deceiving Yourself About Atiku’s Presidency

Published

on

Former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George should swallow his comments that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would not be President in 2027, a political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has said.

According to him, George should continue to wallow in self delusion and ego trip, because he lacks the powers to determine who becomes the President of Nigeria in 2027.

“Let him (George) rest easy, Atiku’s hope for the future is on God and the generality of Nigerians and not on George and his ilk now seeking patronage and political relevance from the powers be by taking up the role of a fake prophet”, he said.

George had told Atiku to wait till 2031 if he wants to contest again for the position of president.

He had insisted that a Southerner must occupy the office of President from 2023 to 2031, “because that is the reality of our country, PDP Constitution and our polity.”

But Frank in a statement told George that he had no power to determine who becomes the President of Nigeria in 2027.

Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, also reminded George that he is not God who can decide Atiku’s fate or future if the ex-Vice President decides to run for Presidency in 2027.

He said, “How can a man
assume the position of God?
How can a mortal probably already at the departure lounge as it is common to all mortals claim to know the outcome of political events that are still very remote?

“I don’t think George can even raise his voice on state matters at this time because he is not qualified…This is a man who swore that President Bola Tinubu will not win the 2023 presidential election.

“This is a man who vowed that he will renounce his Nigerian citizenship and go on self exile to Ghana if Tinubu
becomes President and watch Nigerians from his “binoculars” from that neighbouring West African country.

“This is a man who said on Arise Television interview in 2022 that he can bet any amount money on Tinubu not having educational certificates.

“As far as Nigerians are concerned, George is no longer a Nigerian by reason of the fact that Tinubu is President. Let him enjoy his new found home instead of attacking Atiku as a ploy to walk his way into Tinubu’s heart apparently for crumbs now that he appears hungry and politically forgotten and empty.

“Let George publicly apologise to Tinubu for his 2023 political misjudgments in order for the President to probably forgive him so he can enjoy the kind of patronage for which he thinks undermining Atiku and his party (PDP) will make available to him.

“If God says Atiku will be President in 2027, a thousand Olabode George cannot annul it.

“Besides, George has never supported Atiku in any election but he has always won his primary and emerge candidate of the PDP.”

Edo Speaker Explains Defection from PDP to APC to Secure Office Benefits

Published

Mr. Blessing Agbebaku, the Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, has articulated his reasons for transitioning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

On Tuesday, Agbebaku, accompanied by two fellow House members, Hon. Sunday Fada Eigbiremonlen and Hon. Idaiye Yekini Oisayemoje, announced their defection to the APC. In an official address to his colleagues on Wednesday, Agbebaku stated that his decision was motivated by the desire to preserve the advantages associated with his role as Speaker, which he believes are vital for the advancement of his constituency.

He remarked, “I shifted my allegiance to the APC to ensure the benefits of the Speaker’s position continue to foster development in my constituency. My focus is not on the political party itself, but rather on the progress of our area. If I were to abandon this position for party allegiance, it would hinder the development efforts in my community, indicating a lack of commitment to serve my constituents.”

Agbebaku further informed his colleagues, “I want to officially announce that as of yesterday, I, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, have defected to the APC.” He emphasized that his constituents support his decision, highlighting ongoing developmental projects in the Owan West constituency initiated by Governor Monday Okpebholo.

He concluded by stating that his defection was not motivated by personal interests but by a dedication to the welfare of those who elected him, asserting, “Politics revolves around interests, but my focus is on the interests of my people who entrusted me with this mandate.”

Bwala To Atiku: It May Not Have Been God’s Will For You To Govern Nigeria

Published

on

Daniel Bwala, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on policy communication, says former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar should accept that presidency may not be his destiny.

Bwala spoke on Monday during an interview on TVC, where he addressed issues surrounding political succession and the future of opposition politics in the country.

He asked Abubakar to embrace reality and collaborate with President Tinubu in building the country.

“If I have the opportunity to meet him face to face, what I will tell him is just this: ‘Your Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, you have to believe in destiny,’” Bwala said.

“God gives power to whomsoever He chooses. And it seems from the facts on the ground that it may not have been the will of God for you to govern Nigeria.”

He advised the former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to align himself with Tinubu’s administration to leave a lasting legacy, “even if it is realised through another person”.

“There are many other ways you can contribute. Since you have been a friend to President Bola Tinubu for many years, come together and bring your contribution towards the Nigeria that both of you wanted to create for the Nigerian people,” he said.

“Your legacy will be that in your political dying days, you will be able to achieve some of your dreams, albeit through your friend.

“But if he insists that he wants to run and he wants to become the president, as we have already seen it playing out, his political ending might not be as palatable as he’s thinking.

“Right now, from his political family, he has lost substantial people, probably 60 to 70 percent.”

Bwala added that younger politicians who once followed Abubakar are now determined to seek power in their own right and have shown no signs of retreating.

The presidential aide’s remarks come amid a gale of defections from opposition parties to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

There are speculations that some governors of the opposition parties may soon join the APC.

In March, Abubakar said he was unsure about contesting the 2027 presidency, adding that there must be a viable platform.

Kano: Wherever Kwankwaso goes politically, we follow – Governor Yusuf vows

Published

on

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso’s political decisions.

Governor Yusuf pledged to follow Kwankwaso’s political lead, stating, “wherever he goes politically, his supporters will follow.”

The governor made this declaration while addressing 484 local government Councillors from the 44 Local government areas at the Government House on Sunday.

Governor Yusuf also dismissed the allegations made by Baffa Bichi, former Secretary to the State Government labeling him as ‘a shameless liar’, describing the claims as false and laughable.

The governor particularly refuted the claim that Kwankwaso receives N2 billion monthly from the Kano State Government, describing the allegation as “the height of political desperation and dishonesty.”

Governor Yusuf praised Kwankwaso as “one of the purest and most selfless individuals in Kano,” stating that he has never demanded any funds from the administration or interfered with government’s finances.
The governor questioned Bichi’s timing and motive, stating that he served in the government for over a year without raising concerns, adding, “he is only speaking out after his dismissal due to poor performance.”

He criticised Bichi for lacking integrity, suggesting, “he should have spoken out while still in office if he had genuine concerns.

“You were in this government for more than a year, If you had any integrity, you would have spoken out while still in office.

“But you chose silence until you were sent parking. That exposes your real motive.”

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and good governance.

Governor Yusuf also urged the people of the state to disregard what he described as ”the noise of bitter politicians who have lost relevance.” (NAN)
