Sani Sidi, a close associate of former Vice President and former Kaduna State governor Namadi Sambo, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna, along with several supporters.
Sidi, who previously served as the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other prominent PDP members were welcomed by Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, during a ceremony on Tuesday.
At the defection event held at the Trade Fair Complex in Kaduna, Governor Uba Sani assured attendees that the APC would treat both new and existing members fairly.
He stated, “Muhammad Sani Sidi has returned to the APC due to our governance approach, which prioritises justice and addresses the needs of our people.”
Among the notable APC figures present at the defection were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudddeen, and Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas, along with other party leaders.
