Mr. Dominic Gambo Yahaya, the Paramount Chief of the Atyap People (Agwa Atyap), revealed his deep disappointment regarding the complete exclusion of his Chiefdom from any government projects during the eight-year administration of Mal Nasir el-Rufai.
Speaking from his official residence in Kaduna, the monarch expressed his gratitude towards Governor Uba Sani for rejuvenating the hopes of his people through the ongoing multi-billion naira Skills Acquisition Center and rural road project.
During the past eight years, Atyap Chiefdom suffered from severe insecurity, resulting in the brutal killings of women and children, as well as the abandonment of numerous communities due to persistent attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
“We have never experienced such neglect in the past years. Our Chiefdom was completely overlooked when it came to any form of projects.
“However, my people are now filled with joy due to the remarkable projects underway in our Chiefdom, and I can confidently say that the people stand firmly with the Government of Sen Uba Sani,” stated the monarch.
The traditional ruler told Elanza News that the projects initiated by Governor Uba Sani are not limited to his Chiefdom alone but extend across the Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone.
“Right from the beginning, the Government made it clear that rural transformation was a priority. What we have witnessed is that the Government of Sen Uba Sani goes beyond mere words and takes concrete actions.
“In January, the Governor visited our Palace and unveiled plans to commence various projects. One of the first projects was the rural road in Tankjai, which connects the main road to Saminaka road up to Ungwan Jaba.
“The Governor requested the project to commence immediately in installments, and within a week, materials were delivered to the site, and work began earnestly. The completed portion, as indicated by the Government, has already been finished,” Yahaya disclosed.
Yahaya highlighted the overwhelming joy within the Chiefdom, as the Government has swiftly turned promises into actions, demonstrating its genuine concern for the welfare of the people.
“The Skill Acquisition Centre in Samaru Kataf, funded by the Government of Morocco according to the Governor, is progressing smoothly, and the projected timeline for its completion will be adhered to. We are equally delighted that the Governor is true to his words, and the tangible progress we witness is a testament to the Government’s commitment to the people.
“The Skills Acquisition Centre aims to benefit the entire state, particularly the Southern region. Once completed, it will have a positive impact on our youth, transform rural communities, enhance the economic well-being of our people, and mitigate the prevailing insecurity,” he affirmed.
