In a statement on Saturday, the Chairman of the Association, Ovie Onome, highlighted the commendable strides made by the Nigerian Navy under Operation Delta Sanity II in combating crude oil theft and securing the nation’s maritime domain.

According to Onome, Dr. Matawalle’s dedication and continued support for such operations are crucial in safeguarding Nigeria’s resources.

He emphasized that these efforts promote economic stability and peace in affected communities, reinforcing the critical role of collaboration and vigilance in national security.

The successes recorded in January 2025 underscore the unwavering commitment of security operatives in protecting the country’s resources.

According to him,Coordinated efforts have led to the dismantling of illegal refinery sites, the seizure of significant quantities of stolen crude oil, and the arrest of multiple suspects involved in illicit activities across various states.

“Security forces also confiscated weapons, with notable recoveries made in Bayelsa State. These developments highlight ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks linked to militancy and oil theft, which pose a significant threat to Nigeria’s economy and security.

The Association of Delta Youths reaffirmed its support for security agencies and called for sustained efforts to combat organized crime in the oil sector.
