The incident occurred on Friday evening in Bagudo, his hometown located in the Bagudu Local Government Area.

Local residents recounted that the assailants stormed the area and abducted him before security forces could intervene.

Fear and confusion have spread throughout the community as news of the abduction emerged.

Ahmed Idris, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, confirmed he had received reports regarding the incident when contacted. He stated that he was awaiting further updates from security personnel.

“Yes, I have just been informed about the alleged abduction of the Deputy Speaker in his hometown this evening. I am in contact with the Director of Security in the state. Once I have more details regarding what transpired, I will promptly inform you of the government’s position,” Idris said.

He assured that authorities were already taking action in response to the situation. “I can guarantee that the state government is managing the situation and will ensure his safe release.”

In the meantime, security personnel have reportedly been deployed to the area as efforts to locate the missing lawmaker intensify.
