The founder of Zion Flames Prophetic and Intercessory Ministries, Apostle Momo Promise, has accused Nigerian politicians of abandoning governance in pursuit of their 2027 political ambitions.

The cleric urged political leaders to focus on improving the lives of Nigerians rather than engaging in premature election campaigns and political permutations.

In a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, Apostle Promise expressed concern over the growing wave of political alignments and defections across party lines ahead of the next general elections.

According to him, many politicians have become more interested in securing future political positions than addressing the economic and social challenges facing citizens.

“Politicians must focus on how Nigeria must start working from now and not on 2027 general elections. Governance should be about service and not a vehicle for self-aggrandisement,” he said.

The preacher warned leaders against treating public office as an avenue for personal gain while the masses continue to suffer hardship across the country.

He further criticised the increasing political activities already dominating the nation’s space, saying governance had taken the back seat.

“We have politicians aligning and realigning with different political parties in preparation for 2027 like they own their lives in their hands. Do you know if you will make it to 2027? Start living a life of positive impact today, today is what we have for now,” Apostle Momo added.

The cleric noted that the uncertainty of life should remind leaders of the need to make meaningful impact while in office instead of focusing solely on future elections.

He also prayed for wisdom for those in positions of authority and urged them to implement policies that would improve the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.

His comments come amid heightened political activities and internal crises within major political parties, including the All Progressives Congress, ahead of the 2027 elections.

Many worshippers at the service described the message as timely, noting that Nigerians were becoming increasingly frustrated over poor governance and endless political calculations.
