Nasarawa State Football Association FA, has appealed to the State Government to rebuild the Keffi Stadium in order to promote football in the Western Zone of the State.
Chairman of the association, Salisu Galadima, made the appeal during the final Dujiman of Keffi three years anniversary football competition, held at Keffi Stadium on Sunday.
The football competition, was organized to rejoice with the son of the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Engineer Muhammad Nuraini Abdullahi Adamu, over his conferment with the traditional tittie of Dujiman Keffi, three years ago by the emir of Keffi, Shehu Chindo Yamusa.
Speaking with Elanzanews at the event, Chairman, Nasarawa state Football Association, Salisu Galadima, represented by his deputy, Ibrahim Adamu Shigafarta, apart from commending the organizers of the competition, he however made a case for the state government to rebuild Keffi Stadium with modern facilities, stating that football has become one of the most lucrative businesses in the entertainment industry globally.
He said the current leadership of Football Association in Nasarawa State has organised a series of events with the aim of promoting football and in particular discover hidden potentials among youths, maintaining that it was also facilitates the movement of one of Keffi based footballer, Sanusi Ibrahim to play in Montreal FC outside the Nigeria.
“The march organised in honour of Dujiman Of Keffi Three Years Anniversary is one of the platforms that provide the teaming youths with the rare opportunity to showcase their talents in football”. He also commend Local Government Officials, players and supporters for maturity during the Competition.
On his part, the Dujiman Keffi, Engr. Nuraini Abdullahi Adamu, disclosed that the football match was put together to unite the people of Keffi particularly the youths for the progress and harmonious coexistence.
The final match was played between Liman Abaji and Iya electoral wards, which saw Liman Abaji defeated Iya ward with one goal to nothing to become first position through a player number 12 position, Abubakar.
Gifts were presented to the first, second and third positions, best player, best goalkeeper, goal scorer and best coach among others.
