The newly appointed Director General, National Productivity Centre NPC, Baffa Umar Dan Agundi has resumed duty as the new Director General, National Productivity Centre , NPC, a research and training institute amidst wide criticism from productivity stakeholders.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed a politician with less experience in public service from kano state to replace an academic who has spend one year on the leadership of the agency.
Baffa assumed duty on Wednesday with Ordinary Diploma (OD) from Kano state Polytechnic and Higher National Diploma (HND) from same Polytechnic and was elected one time as member of Kano State House of Assembly and lately Chief Executive Officer , Kano State Road Transport Agency (KAROTA).
The removed Director General, Dr Nasir Raji Mustapha was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in May , 2023 , after the expiration of the tenure of the former Director General , Dr Kashim Akor NPOM, FNIM.
The National Productivity Centre NPC was established to train both private and public establishment on productivity, hence the appointment of a politician to such a sensitive position desiring learned people is been criticised by Nigerians.
