The Managing Director of Kaduna State Road Agency (KADRA), Dr Abdullahi Ahmed, has emphasised the strategic importance of the ongoing Raba road project in Kaduna.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the road connects the Water Board area to the Rigassa train station.
In an interview shortly after the inspection tour of the project, Ahmed highlighted the road’s potential to significantly enhance connectivity within the state.
“This road is crucial as it will link various parts of the state to Rigasa, particularly the train station,” he stated.
He explained that the new route would offer a shorter and more efficient path for commuters, particularly those traveling from Kawo, eliminating the need to pass through a Television Garage or Mando to reach Rigasa.
Ahmed said that the project includes two bridges, both of which have been completed, and confirmed that the contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), has fully resumed work on the site.
He expressed optimism about the project’s timely completion, saying that Gov. Uba Sani recently traveled to China to expedite discussions with CCECC’s headquarters regarding the critical infrastructure.
He, however, acknowledged that the project was currently facing challenges related to compensation issues, which a newly formed task force is addressing.
Ahmed assured that all necessary measures were being taken to resolve the thorny issues, ensuring the smooth continuation of the work without further delay.(NAN)
