Senate spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the Ekiti South Senatorial District, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adaramodu secured 12,200 votes to defeat former Senate Minority Leader Biodun Olujimi, who polled 7,420 votes, and former House of Representatives member Bamidele Faparusi, who garnered 5,502 votes.
Announcing the results, Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee, Adedoyin, stated that the exercise was conducted in line with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines. He noted that Adaramodu met all constitutional and party requirements and secured the highest number of valid votes cast.
According to Adedoyin, the result reflected the overwhelming confidence of APC delegates across the senatorial district in Adaramodu. Following the declaration, he returned Adaramodu as the duly elected APC senatorial candidate for Ekiti South.
Political observers suggest the outcome significantly bolsters Adaramodu’s standing within the APC in Ekiti State, given the calibre of opponents he defeated in the keenly contested primary.
