In preparation for the impending primary elections scheduled for February 17, 2024, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has granted clearance to all 12 aspirants vying for the party’s ticket to contest the Edo State governorship race slated for September 22.
According to the report by ElanzaNews the 12 aspirants diligently procured and submitted the requisite forms, each valued at N50 million.
The aspirants comprise a diverse array of personalities including Clem Agba, Monday Okpebholo, Lucky Imasuen, Anamero Dekeri, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Gideon Ikhine, and retired Colonel David Imuse. Also in the fray are retired General Charles Ehigie Airhiavbere, Oserheimen Osunbor, Blessing Agbomhere, Dennis Idahosa, and Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe.
The APC’s outlined timeline for the gubernatorial contest indicates that campaigns will kick off on April 24.
Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC, affirmed the party’s endorsement of the aspirants’ aspirations, pledging a transparent, equitable, and valid gubernatorial primary process.
