The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has officially dismissed reports claiming the removal of its Chairman, Senator Hope Uzodimma, describing the allegations as entirely false.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its Secretariat, the Forum said no meeting was held to consider any leadership change, and no resolution was passed to remove the Imo State Governor from office.
“The report is entirely false, baseless, and without an iota of truth,” the statement read.
The PGF further confirmed that its Secretariat has no record of any such decision, affirming that Senator Uzodimma remains the legitimate Chairman of the Forum.
“No meeting of the Forum was held at which any such decision was taken. His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, remains the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum,” the statement added.
Emphasising unity and a continued focus on its governance responsibilities, the Forum urged the public, party members, and journalists to disregard the reports entirely.
“The Forum remains united, focused, and committed to its responsibilities,” the statement concluded.
The clarification, signed by the PGF Director General and dated 7 May 2026, comes amid heightened political speculation, with the Forum moving swiftly to quell uncertainty over its leadership structure.
