The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on residents of Sokoto State to seize the final opportunity to register as the last phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise runs from 11 May to 10 July 2026.

In a statement issued by the commission’s Public Affairs Officer in Sokoto, Hassan Sarki Gendane, on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Umar Yusuf Garba, INEC urged all eligible citizens to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) ahead of upcoming elections.

The registration will be conducted both online via pre-registration and through physical registration points for in-person enrolment.

“Your participation is critical to the growth of our democracy. We urge everyone in Sokoto State to register and collect their PVCs – this is your final chance before the exercise concludes. The deadline is fast approaching, so act now,” Mr Garba said.

He added that voters who have lost their PVCs, need to transfer their registration, or wish to update their details can now complete these processes online at cvr.inecnigeria.org without visiting an INEC office.

“The commission urges everyone to abide by the timelines and ensure that all necessary steps are completed within the provided period,” the statement read.
