The Kutumbu Group has pledged support for Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas ahead of the 2027 governorship election, following a meeting with the Executive Chairman of Takum Local Government Area, Hon. Bako Benjamin.
The group made the commitment during a visit to Bako at his office in Takum, where discussions centred on governance, security, unity and development.
Bako commended the group for identifying with the Make Takum Great Again (MATAGA) Movement and highlighted what he described as key achievements of the Kefas administration, particularly in restoring peace and security in Takum.
He said improved security had enabled residents to return to farming, business activities and other economic engagements, while also citing ongoing infrastructural projects, educational support and other development initiatives.
The chairman urged the group and other residents to support Kefas in the 2027 election to sustain the administration’s achievements.
In response, the Kutumbu Group commended the governor’s commitment to peace and development, while also praising Bako’s leadership and infrastructural efforts in Takum.
The group pledged to mobilise support for Kefas and the MATAGA Movement ahead of the election.
The meeting ended with a vote of confidence in Governor Kefas and Chairman Bako Benjamin.
