Hon. Daniel Amos, representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, described workers as the backbone of national development in a statement released on Thursday to mark Workers’ Day.

The lawmaker acknowledged mounting pressures—soaring inflation, job insecurity, and economic volatility—while commending workers’ continued strength and adaptability.

“From the farms that sustain our food systems to the classrooms shaping our future, and from hospitals preserving lives to businesses driving economic activity, workers remain the bedrock of our nation’s progress,” Amos said.

He stressed that nation-building is not achieved through policy declarations alone but through the consistent, often unrecognised efforts of hardworking citizens.

Amos called on all levels of government and relevant stakeholders to prioritise workers’ welfare by implementing policies that reward diligence, protect labour rights, and boost productivity.

“It is imperative to create an enabling environment that supports workers, safeguards their welfare, and inspires greater productivity,” he added.

The lawmaker described the resilience of Nigerian workers as a source of hope, particularly in Kaduna State and his constituency, and urged them to remain steadfast in their roles toward building a more prosperous and united nation.
