The family of the late Jane Dolapo Balogun, the mum of Wizkid, has announced her funeral activities.

Jane passed away on August 18. The cause of her death was, however, not disclosed.

In an e-flier shared on social media, the family said a wake keep and tribute will be held in Jane’s honour on October 12, while the funeral will take place the following day.

The funeral service will be held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David, Victoria Island in Lagos.

Jane was born on July 14, 1957. The deceased is survived by Muniru Olatunji Balogun, her husband, and four children.

Her children are Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, and Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun.

The singer was born in Surulere on July 16, 1990. He grew up in a polygamous home with a Muslim father and a Christian mother.

In a 2012 radio interview with Tim Westwood, Wizkid revealed that his father has three wives.

The singer is known to be very fond of his mum.

In 2014, Wizkid released ‘Mummy Mi’, a song off his ‘Ayo’ album. The song was dedicated to mothers across the world.

The singer praised Jane for all the joy she gave to him. He also promised to spoil her with the finest things in life.
