The Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) National Youth Wing said the unabated killings in the region for several years now is a cause for concern.
The youth said they are saddened and shocked by the news of the kidnap of 10 students of Government Secondary school Awon on the 3rd day of April 2023, and the unabated attacks on the communities of Kasan Kogi, Unguwan Dogo, Pachi and Akuru all in Kachia Local Government area of Kaduna State.
A statement issued by the National Youth Leader, John Isaac, on 5th April, 2023, said the kidnapping of 121 students of Bethel Baptist high school Kujama on July 5th 2021, remains fresh in their memory.
“We expect the government of the day to put all security measures in order to forestall a repeat of this dastardly act
“We call on government and security agencies at all levels to ensure the unconditional release of those students and make sure that peace is restored to these communities and the criminal elements are arrested and made to face the full wrath of law. It is important to note that these bandits live in the nearby bushes to their attacked communities.
“While we condemn this barbaric act, we urge our Youth to remain calm, law abiding and vigilant so as to report any suspicious movement to the appropriate authority, ” the statement added.
